The World Is so Big, and I Have Always Wanted to See More

“My biggest dream has been to see more of the world, and after coming to NYU Shanghai, I can say that I really have.

For the longest time, I’ve had an interest in environmental sustainability, and last fall I spent an entire semester away in Madrid, Spain, taking a course called The Politics of Climate Change. It taught me a lot about the history and progress of actions taken to address global climate change and how different states have responded to it. At NYU Shanghai, I have been actively involved as an outreach coordinator in the student organization Green Shanghai, helping to lead environmental activities and events. I am studying away in New York this semester and looking forward to volunteer or internship opportunities that will help me make a difference towards environmental sustainability.

I am so happy that I’ve been able to ‘make the world my major,’ and deepen my understanding of sustainability through my studies in other countries. I am very grateful for your donation because I believe that education is one’s best fortune. My scholarship has allowed me to broaden my horizons and realize my dreams in this big world. ”
