Learn to Maintain A Balanced Work Life

My daughter joined Student Government to get to know more about NYU Shanghai and for her own personal development. By getting involved, she found that the students and university administration had poor existing communications, a problem of which she wanted to break new ground. After working with Student Government for a year, designing solutions to her team’s communications problems, she was elected President. Under her guidance, the team began to talk to fellow students in person when disseminating information about Student Government operations and responsibilities. They also began holding weekly meetings with University leadership to report on their recent work and voice students’ concerns. These moves helped the two parties communicate in a closer way and enabled administrators to respond to problems efficiently. I am delighted to see how she has prioritized her busy schedule to maintain a balanced work life.
