The Re-Election Meeting of NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation Board
On the afternoon of February 29, the re-election meeting, i.e. the Eleventh Meeting of the Second Session and First Meeting of the Third Session of the NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation Board were held in Room S905 at NYU Shanghai. Board members of the second session and Board member candidates of the third session attended the respective meetings.
Rime Sun, Secretary General of the Foundation, reported to the Board about the Foundation‘s work progress during the past five years, and expressed sincere appreciation for the leadership and support from the second session of the Board. The board members reviewed and approved the work report and financial summary of the second session of the Foundation Board, Special Audit Report on Change of the Board, and special Audit Report on Economic Responsibility during the Term of Legal Representative. Supervisor Hao Weng read out the supervisor's opinion and expressed approval of the legality and compliance of the various work carried out by the first council of the past five years.
Subsequently, the directors deliberated and approved the "Measures on Board Election", scrutineer, vote counter and poll clerk, and conducted a secret ballot for the election of the third session of the board in accordance with the relevant procedures stipulated in the "Shanghai Foundation Board Election Guidelines." 9 members including Cathie Qing Liu was elected as the Third Session Board Members. 3 members including Charlotte Ying Lu was elected as the Second Session Board of Supervisors.
After the conclusion of the board re-election meeting, the First Meeting of the Second Session of the Board of Supervisors of the NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation convened its inaugural meeting. Following the relevant procedures, the second session of the Board of supervisors elected Christie Jia Li as the Chief Supervisor through secret ballot, and reviewed the board re-election meeting.
Subsequently, the Third Session of the NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation Board held the first meeting. Board members elected the leadership of the Board through secret ballot and signed the resolution for third session of Foundation Board Leadership, legal representative, and extension of registration certificate. Development Director of NYU Shanghai, Rime Shuangyun Sun, was elected as the Chairman of the Foundation, and Senior Manager of Development of NYU Shanghai, Cathie Qing Liu, was elected as the Secretary General of the Foundation.
Secretary General Cathie Liu reported to the new Board the Foundation’s work progress since last October, and the board members reviewed and approved several resolution items including the Foundation address change, restatement of the Articles of Association, 2023 Work Report, 2024 Work Plan, 2023 Financial Report, 2024 Budget, etc. and signed the resolutions. The restatement of Articles of Association was conducted through secret ballots.
Subsequently, Director Jeffrey Lehman provided a recent update on NYU Shanghai, highlighting the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD). He specially invited Professor Chenghe Guan to introduce and elaborate more on Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD)'s mission and purpose, marking it as the first sponsored center of its kind at NYU Shanghai.
At the end of the meeting, the newly appointed board members envisioned the future development of the Foundation as well as NYU Shanghai. They firmly believed that, guided by the leadership of the reinvigorated Foundation Board, significant and enduring progress would be achieved.
