On the afternoon of November 15, 2016, the fifth meeting of the first session of NYU Shanghai Education Foundation Board was held in Room 1429 at NYU Shanghai. The meeting was convened and presided over by the Executive Director of the Foundation Mr. Yilong Teng.

The Secretary-General of the Foundation, Ms. Rime Sun, briefed the board members on the recent work of the Foundation. The Foundation acquired its first credentials to perform pre-tax deduction on public welfare donations in 2014 and passed the 2015 review of the qualification. In addition, the meeting introduced the "2013 Fund" initiated by NYU Shanghai senior students of Class 2017 and the WeChat donation platform. The Parents and Friends newsletters co-launched by the Foundation and University Communications were also presented at the meeting.

Vice Chancellor and board member of the Foundation, Jeff Lehman, shared the recent development of the University with other members. The University has made satisfactory achievements in student admission, pedagogical practices, and faculty recruitment.

At the meeting, board members voted and approved, by a show of hands, on three significant public welfare spendings.  All members present signed the resolutions.

Mr. Yilong Teng spoke highly of the Foundation's standardized donation management and suggested this would be conducive to attracting more donations.

After the meeting, some of the board members attended the second annual NYU Shanghai Lighting the Way Scholarship Gala, hosted by the Foundation.
