Board Members Convene for the Ninth Meeting of the Second Session of NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation Board

On March 4, 2023 the Ninth Meeting of the Second Session of the NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation (the Foundation) Board and the Ninth Meeting of the First Session of the Foundation’s Board of Supervisors were held. They both took place on the NYU Shanghai Qiantan Campus in S905 Board Room.

The board meeting was convened and presided over by Shuzhe Ding, Chairman of the Foundation board. Secretary-General Rime Sun gave her report to the members, outlining the recent work undertaken by the foundation. This included the financial report for Calendar Year 2022, fundraising summary, alumni and foundation events, and external publicity. 2022 marks the 10th anniversary since NYU Shanghai’s establishment, and the fundraising goal set for the 10th anniversary celebration has been exceeded with a 120% completion rate. The Foundation kept its full score in the Foundation Transparency Index ranking. In addition, the Foundation has recently relocated to the Qiantan Campus with NYU Shanghai, and is actively preparing for the change of its official address. Later, Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Lehman shared the student placement information with the board members.

The board members voted on AY2024 Foundation Budget, the significant fund investment plan, the significant fundraising and significant program funding resolutions for spring 2023 by a show of hands, subsequently signing the resolutions into effect.

The Board of Supervisors meeting continued after the Board meeting ended. Hao Weng, the Chief Supervisor, presided over the meeting. The three supervisors reviewed and discussed the items on the board meeting, reviewed the recent progress of the university, and made some suggestions to the Foundation work.

In the next phase, the Foundation will actively get ready for the official address change and reelection of the next session of the foundation board.
