Board Members Convene for the Fifth Meeting of the Third Session of NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation Board

On the afternoon of March 25th , 2026, the Fifth Meeting of the Third Session of the NYU Shanghai Education Development Foundation (the Foundation) Board was held on the NYU Shanghai New Bund Campus in S905 Board Room. The Fifth Meeting of the Second Session of the Foundation’s Board of Supervisors was held after the board meeting was held.
The board meeting was convened and presided over by Rime Sun, Chairperson of the Foundation board. Secretary-General, Cathie Liu, presented her report to the members, outlining the recent work undertaken by the Foundation. This included a comprehensive review of the Foundation’s Affairs, Gift Income and Financial Investment Summary, updates on alumni and Foundation events, and an overview of external publicity efforts. Later, the Board of Supervisors presented its 2025 annual work report to the Board of Directors.
During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Lehman provided board members with updates on the university’s recent progress. Highlights included an overview of the efforts to promote Study Away in Shanghai and the support donors have provided to encourage students to Study Away in Shanghai. He concluded NYU Shanghai welcomed 242 study away students from 29 countries in Spring 2026, representing a 45% increase compared with the Fall 2025 semester, and this was made possible from the gifts that were made to support scholarships for Study Away students.
The board members by a show of hands, voted for new resolutions on the 2025 Work Report, 2026 Work Plan, 2025 Financial Summary, 2026 Foundation Budget, Spring 2026 significant program fund transfer, the Spring 2026 financial investment proposal, the update of the Information Disclosure Policy, Travel Policy and the update of the Procedure for Initiating Payment and Obtaining Reimbursements.
The Board of Supervisors held a board meeting in S904 at NYU Shanghai. During the meeting, the three supervisors discussed key issues for the Board, recent university developments, and contribute valuable suggestions for the Foundation's future direction and initiatives.
The Foundation looks forward to the continued work of supporting NYU Shanghai’s activities and goals.
